The HLTAID003 Provide First Aid Training Course will be held on the 24th & 25th February 2020.
This course is the minimum qualification level required in the workplace as it covers areas of general emergency first aid. This qualification covers theory in the responsibilities of the first aider, basic anatomy, and first aid principles such as what to do in an emergency, CPR, EAR, defibrillator use, bandaging, breaks, hemorrhage control, bites, stings and recording incidents.
This qualification is valid for 3 years with a condition that a yearly CPR update is completed no later than the date the qualification was received. This is not only an Industry and Australian Resuscitation Council recommendation; it is required by the curriculum guidelines set by the State Government Department of Education and Training. This ensures that the First Aider is always up-to-date with current First Aid techniques and the management of emergencies.
Students will be assessed through the demonstration of practical skills, participation in role plays, analysis of case studies and a written exam.
